UPDATE ON WATER DISRUPTIONS IN KWANOBUHLE DUE TO WORK DONE ON THE BLOEMENDAL / KWANOBUHLE PIPELINE
The reservoirs that supply KwaNobuhle have risen slightly, bringing some relief to low-lying areas.
At the moment, there is minimal water supply in high-lying areas due to limits on water abstraction from the Kouga dam.
Simultaneously, Water and Sanitation teams are currently working on the Bloemendal / KwaNobuhle pipeline tie-in. Which will water from Nooitgedacht.
The work is scheduled to be completed today. Following the completion of the work, the water supply will be opened, and the team will inspect the pipeline for leaks.
If no leaks are found, water will be supplied from Nooitgedacht to parts of KwaNobuhle.

WATER OUTAGES IN KWANOBUHLE AS A RESULT OF BLOEMENDAL/KWANOBUHLE PIPELINE WORK
The Municipality would like to inform residents that teams from Water & Sanitation are currently working on connecting the Bloemendal / KwaNobuhle Pipeline, and reservoirs 3 and 4 have been disconnected to facilitate the connection.
Additionally, teams are attempting to accelerate the construction of this pipeline in order to bring water to KwaNobuhle from Nooitgedacht.
As a result of the ongoing drought and limits placed on the Kouga Dam, there is not enough water being supplied to the area.
Water trucks have been dispatched to the following areas:
1. Close to the Municipal Depot on Ponana Tini Road.
2. Corner Mondile Street and Ponana Tini Road.
The operation is expected to be completed by the end of the day, with water supply restored by tomorrow morning.

A SECTION OF UITENHAGE WITHOUT ELECTRICITY SUPPLY AS A RESULT OF THE VANDALISM OF THE MOSEL SUBSTATION

The Municipality wishes to inform citizens that due to damage and theft at the Mosel substation last night, a section of Uitenhage is without electricity.
17 substations throughout the Metro have been vandalised in the last two months, with earthing neutral bars, streetlight controls, oil circuit break controls, and transformer tails stolen. Nothing is spared by the thieves.
Residents are encouraged to call 041 506 5500 to report criminal activity in the vicinity of our substations.
Staff is repairing the damage at the Mosel substation; no timeframe given.
