Opening of the Motherwell Driving License Test Centre

The much-needed and anticipated Motherwell Driving License Testing Centre (DLTC) has finally opened its doors on Wednesday, to the excitement of people of Motherwell.
Nelson Mandela Bay Executive Mayor Nqaba has termed this facility as a breath of fresh air and a perfect example of "services at your door-step" facility.
Motherwell DLTC is equipped with cutting-edge technology for learners licensing as well as an entirely online booking system.
In addition, the Motherwell DLTC will help alleviate operational pressures on the Korsten and Uitenhage facilities.
This is the first facility of its kind in the Eastern Cape, fitted with state of the art equipment.
Speaking at the official opening, Executive Mayor Bhanga said this project has been a long time coming and long overdue for Motherwell.
"We started to move with this project when we came into power in 2016. We experienced delays after we left office, when we took office again, this project was one of the priority projects. I'm happy we have delivered within the 2016-2021 term of office. This will be a huge relief to the people of Motherwell and an extended relief for the two existing centres in Korsten and Uitenhage," said Executive Mayor Bhanga.
Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Traffic and Licensing Director Warren Prins said the centre has been fitted with advanced technology. He said currently the centre is a Grade B and will soon be upgraded to a Grade A.
A Grade B traffic and licensing centre can only do tests for, Code B, C1, and Code 10. A Grade A centre does tests for all driving licenses including code 14, and a motorbike license code A.
"Work has already begun towards the upgrade and we are pleased with the progress that we have made. We are excited that services will now be at the people's door step. Highly trained officers have been placed here to make sure that services are efficiently delivered," said Prins.
